Are you a qualified social worker passionate about improving the lives of adults with learning disabilities?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join East Lothian's Learning Disability Team, where you'll play a pivotal role in supporting individuals to achieve positive outcomes and live fulfilling lives.

This is a full-time six-month contract based at John Muir House in East Lothian, offering a competitive hourly rate and the chance to make a real difference.

What You'll Do:


  • Undertake assessments and reviews to support individuals with learning disabilities.
  • Develop and implement person-centred care plans tailored to unique needs.
  • Provide guidance, advocacy, and support to individuals, families, and carers.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency teams to deliver comprehensive interventions.
  • Act as a Council Officer if required and appropriately qualified.
  • Maintain accurate case records, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

What We're Looking For:


  • Degree in Social Work (or equivalent).
  • Registered member of the SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council).
  • Membership of the PVG scheme (Protecting Vulnerable Groups).
  • Experience working within a Learning Disability Team.
  • Council Officer qualification is desirable but not essential.
