Hours - Monday to Friday.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Agricultural Solicitor to join our client based in Banbury.



Person Specification



The Real Estate/Agricultural Property Solicitor will be a self-driven and committed individual with excellent eye for detail. You will deal with a varied caseload of commercial property along with agriculture matters including the sales and purchases of agricultural land and estates and business tenancies. You will be confident handling your own caseload of transactions. Experience or an interest in agricultural matters coupled with a genuine desire to get stuck in with the business development and marketing of the firm generating new business for themselves and the already growing commercial property department is highly advantageous



Main Activities, Duties and Responsibilities




  • To act in relation to the acquisition and disposal of farming businesses including the transfer of Single Payment Scheme entitlements

  • Provide advice in connection with the sale of agricultural land

  • Act for business owners in relation to the refinance of business assets including third party charges, guarantees and debentures over fixed and floating assets

  • Act for landowners and developers in relation to land for development or resale including negotiation of agreements conditional upon planning

  • Hunting, Shooting and Fishing Rights

  • Partnership Agreements and Succession Planning

  • Purchase of Farm or Rural Land

  • Rural Development Property

  • Complete first registrations of title at the Land Registry including where deeds have been lost

  • Dealing with applications to the Land Registry for the acquisition of title to land by adverse possession where the applicant has been in possession of the land for a number of years

  • Dealing with the creation or variation of easements including rights of way and rights for the passage of service media such as electrical infrastructure

  • Negotiate option agreements

  • Drafting of overage agreements whereby further consideration can be payable when future events occur such as the grant of planning permission for development

  • Advising on the creation of agricultural tenancies and on issues in relation to existing tenancies including succession issues

  • Advising in relation to renewable energy projects

  • Advising parties in relation to boundary issues
