Position: Air Freight Import Operator

Location: Farnborough

Job Type: Permanent, Monday - Friday 09:00am - 17:30pm (Approx)

Salary: �28,000 - �35,000 (DEO)

Our client, a Global Freight Forwarder, is looking to appoint an Air Freight Import Operator with experience dealing with end-to-end air import operations to join their team.

Your key responsibilities as an Air Freight Operator:

• Managing shipments on an end-to-end' operational basis from quotation, execution and client invoicing.
• Responding to quote requests in a timely efficient manner for external and internal clients.
• Booking of shipments with carriers
• Ensure data is accurately entered into all systems following company best practice
• Resolving day-to-day issues with Clients and Vendors.
• Proactive communication to both internal and external clients with any identified actual or potential service issue.
• Responding to service updates and status updates as required by internal and external clients.
• Liaise with airlines and overseas agents
• Negotiate directly with air freight carriers to achieve best pricing

Requirements:

• Experienced in start-to-finish operations from rate negotiation to invoicing
• Must have prior experience working across Air Freight operations - Road & Sea freight experience desirable
• Confident in managing own accounts and liaising with overseas agents and carriers
• Comprehensive understanding of import regimes and understanding of Customs procedures
• Comprehensive understanding of CDS/CHIEF
