My client is a SME freight forwarding business, with huge ambitions for growth, in the freight & shipping industry. You will be joining a fast-pace environment assisting in finding logistics solutions for some of the world's largest industrial, retail & FMCG based customers. My client focuses on searching air freight, sea freight & road freight solutions, which are both cost effective & time sensitive.
Job Description
As a Air & Sea Freight Forwarder you will report in to the Air & Sea Freight Manager on a daily basis. You will be responsible for the following areas for responsibility across the Cannock, West Midlands office:

• Managing the pricing, quoting, booking and file monitoring of freight across air import, air export, sea freight and cross-trade.


• Responsible for preparing road, air and sea freight pricing & customer quotations - informing about the freight prices, port charges, cost of special documents, insurance prices as well as prices for handling the goods.


• Organising transport through third party transit means - such as air freight, sea freight and dedicated transport.


• Providing appropriate transportation means with adequate load capacity and regulations around IMDG, IATA.


• Handling customs entries and arranging billings for VAT/Duties


• Ensuring, booking and conducting customs clearance.

 The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have an expansive background in either air or road freight forwarding industry. The ideal Air & Sea Freight Forwarder will have the following skills and experience:

• 2+ year's experience in freight forwarding in either sea or air freight.


• Experience of pricing, quotation and planning customer deliveries across road, air & sea freight.


• Desirable experience of customs compliance


• Excellent customer service experience


• Knowledge of INCOTerms is advantageous


• Commutable to Cannock on a hybrid basis
