Allocations Analyst

Our client is looking for an Allocations Analyst for our client based in Aberdeen on a contract basis. (Hybrid Working) 

ROLE

The job holder has to ensure that the data is accurately checked and that any poor data is substituted with healthy data. The result of the job holder's work is the well allocation and production data.  This allocation is validated by the Senior Production Hydrocarbon Analyst before the job holder issues the results on a daily basis.  The data is used by the Well Performance teams for reservoir management and well potential and performance studies. Other uses of the data are in production planning, production forecasts, pipeline operator shipping planning and government reporting.  
The PDMS software is complex with many interfaces and requires controlled maintenance and upgrades, the job holder plays a key role in leading troubleshooting and solution implementation for any operational PDMS issues.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

GENERAL


  • Perform and maintain the daily implementation of Production Data Management System (PDMS) well allocation and accounting input validation rules and procedures, to ensure that daily data is of the highest possible standard and to deliver a validated allocation result and production report.
  • Ensure environmental data reported from the PDMS system is accurate. 
  • Ensure software tools and interfaces relevant to daily calculations and reporting are operational and up to date as well as ensure consistent use and understanding of these tools by offshore and onshore colleagues.
  • Lead any troubleshooting with PDMS operational issues. This includes managing and maintaining the PDMS fault log and communicating lessons learned.
  • Provide technical supports to internal and external technical Audits ensuring operational issues are properly considered.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal, external and Group contacts.

ALLOCATION


  • Implement Data Daily Quality Control (QC), validation procedures and ensure Daily PDMS input data are maintained to a high standard, analyse any substandard data quality and its consequences and decide way forward.
  • Ensure comprehensive QC, validation procedures and rules are developed, maintained and applied according to the latest operational conditions.
  • Proactively liaise with appropriate Operations personnel to troubleshoot any issues and ensure their daily input data to PDMS is the highest quality possible. Report to Management any recurrent difficulties and manage action plan.
  • Ensure all loading (manual and automatic) and checks have been performed to run the allocation.
  • Load exceptional flaring measurements, ensure proper code/comments are captured.
  • Load Monthly Potentials once validated by a Well Performance Engineer.
  • Ensure all mis-measurement issued by Metering Engineers are entered in PDMS.
  • Run the Daily Allocation and save it after QC and once validated by the Senior Production Hydrocarbon Analyst.
  • Ensure all documentation, with a particular focus on procedures, relevant to the position are up-to-date to maintain continuity in case of absence.
  • Support the Senior Production Hydrocarbon Analyst with corrections to be applied to run the monthly allocation and any exceptional re-run.

PRODUCTION DATA MANAGEMENT


  • Administrate PDMS database.
  • Maintain views and queries definition in PDMS database and update associated documentation.
  • Analyse and resolve daily PDMS interfaces, inputs, performance and calculation issues utilising the appropriate techniques, liaising with UK Corporate IS Department, Vendor Helpdesk and onsite support and Head Office Support, Pau. Review resulting findings to enable technical decisions to be made and facilitate timely resolution of issues.
  • Act as the focal point for production data sharing with other departments (Query Library), including set up, training and maintenance of links with the PDMS oracle database.
  • Lead the upgrades and commissioning of required updates to existing PDMS tools and creation of new tools for which the role is accountable and responsible, and ensure documentation is up-to-date.  In doing so, ensure tools integrate correctly with other users and stakeholders.
  • Propose and justify modifications to PDMS or to working methods and procedures to improve efficiency and reliability of the allocation result and reporting.  Ensure all modifications meet PDMS Support Office and Company standards and act as the focal point for these modifications.
  • Maintain the loaders files to PDMS and PDMS extensions by liaising with the Head Office support office and Corporate IS Department.
  • Provide direct technical support to relevant positions to ensure correct use and understanding of PDMS inputs, tools, software and interfaces offshore.

WELL TESTING


  • Act as the deputy of the Senior Production Hydrocarbon Analyst for well test processing and be able to process Well Test without altering quality or time delivery.

REPORTING


  • Coordinate with SMART Room to ensure consistency of shortfalls codes and comments.
  • Run and check the Daily Production Shortfalls Report, produce and distribute the shortfalls report to SMART Room and Well Performance Engineers.
  • Act as the deputy of the Production Hydrocarbon Analyst (if needed) to produce and distribute the Production and Efficiency weekly report to relevant persons, the weekly and monthly production tables and regulatory authorities, partners and pipeline operators production reporting, the weekly and monthly Islay reports.
  • Administrate Score Cards/Dashboard Data Mapping, coordinate any modification (request centralisation, justification, specification, etc.) and liaise with Corporate IS Department implementation when necessary.

METHODOLOGY


  • Maintain Level 2 workflows and ensure all documentation (especially internal procedures) relevant to the position are up-to-date to sustain continuity in case of absence.
  • Ensure consistent methods are applied between different Assets.
  • Work closely with Corporate IS Department and Head Office Support Office to maintain all excel based tools developed for the department by providing clear scope of modifications.
  • Ensure the correct environmental data workflow is maintained from input data.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Degree in engineering / an experienced specialist in hydrocarbon accounting and/or data management.
  • Minimum 4 years Industry experience in hydrocarbon accounting & production data management systems.
  • High level of computer literacy including a good knowledge of Oracle database and SQL language.
  • Highly numerate with good analytical capacities.  Systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving.
  • Good administration skills combined with understanding of change control, scope preparation and implementation.
  • Good team working & communication skills.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise multiple tasks in line with allocation objectives and operational constraints.
