Public Equity (EQ) The Public Equity (EQ) department pursues active management strategies in equity investing. We invest globally and are organised along product groups specialising in Developed Markets, Emerging Markets and Asia focused investment strategies. The Global Active Equities (GAEQ) division, which manages a long-term concentrated global portfolio, is looking for an analyst to join the team based in London. The London team comprises of highly experienced investment professionals and this would be great opportunity for the analyst to learn and hone the skills of public market investing. Responsibilities Work closely with the senior analysts in the team and assist them on their day to day work. This would include industry and company specific research, financial analysis, valuation analysis, updating numbers in their financial models etc. Helping the team in monitoring the key portfolio companies by following the quarterly earnings updates, joining management calls and meetings. Work with senior members in the team on potential deals such as pre-IPOs/private funding rounds, IPOs (cornerstone and anchor roles) as well as other special situations. Primary responsibility would be to support these deals through the phases of due diligence, preparation of investment materials, documentation, internal approvals and closing. Play an active role in building a cohesive and collaborative team culture. Requirements At least 2 years of relevant experience in corporate finance role either in an investment bank, investment management (buyside or sellside). Solid understanding of corporate finance concepts and ability to understand, model and explain/present complex valuation analyses. High level of proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word and ideally some experience in Bloomberg. Strong analytical competence and ability to undertake deep fundamental research. Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English. Strong team player with a positive, proactive, curious and can-do attitude. MBA or CFA preferred. Willingness to travel.
