Job Summary:​As the Applications Engineer I we’re looking to you to provide key technical assistance to our Array Sales team by developing in-depth technical knowledge of our DuraTrack® HZ Tracker, including product configuration and site application. In this unique role, you’ll need to combine the technical expertise of an engineer with the customer service mindset of a business development manager. You will focus on developing and maintaining relationships with customer engineers, procurement personnel and business development managers. Key Job Responsibilities:· Serve as the primary technical contact for customers during the pre-sales process· Provide direct technical support to customers as well as the sales department· Determine technical project design requirements, including wind/snow/seismic loading and corrosion· Establish site-specific design requirements· Design the tracker configuration to meet customer requirements· Provide timely feedback to customer questions· Analyze and cost-optimize projects· Simulate projects as needed in PVsyst· Layout, edit and optimize customer projects in CAD· Provide quotes and support documentation for sales activities· Provide support to contract activities to ensure design requirements have been met· Support pricing activities· Generate contract documents· Provide on-site customer pre-sales engineering support· Create and deliver customer presentations in person or on a webinar· Provide input to product feature enhancements and process improvements· Work with a geographically dispersed sales team· Achieve an industry leading technical sales support function· May require occasional evening and weekend hoursQualifications:· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil, aeronautical or electrical engineering· 2+ years working in the engineering field· 2+ years of experience in a sales or customer facing role· 2+ years’ experience using mechanical and structural systems· 3+ years Microsoft Office experiencePreferred qualifications:· Experience in solar, renewables, or power generation equipment· Bilingual English/Spanish skills· Detail oriented and deadline driven with excellent problem-solving abilities· Strong technical skills and the ability to effectively communicate technical information· Outstanding communication, presentation, interpersonal and multi-tasking abilities· Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team across multiple organizations· Ability to thrive within a fast-paced, smaller company environment
