Consilium Recruit are supporting the recruitment of an Applications Engineer to join a thriving business within the design and development of specialist machining centre. The successful applicant will collaborate closely with customers to identify their needs from a technical perspective and candidates are sought with experience using CAD/CAM packages and CNC programming.
Commutable from:  Leicester, Coventry, Rugby, Nuneaton, Loughborough + Lutterworth 

Salary:  £ Negotiable + Company vehicle + bonus + benefits
The Role

The successful candidate will delivery turnkey solutions to the manufacturing sector starting with the technical presales consultancy through to customer handover and sign off. You will collaborate closely with the customer on aspects such as product scoping, tooling, and fixturing design and programming using the requisite control systems.
The Application Engineer will support the development of the latest technologies for specialist machining functions and consult closely with both manufacturing customers and Research & Development linked stakeholders such as Universities and Centres of Excellence.
You will travel frequently to customer sites on an international basis and throughout the UK as part of the role requiring overnight stays away from home and driving to and from the customers.
The Applications Engineer will support customer acceptance sessions, knowledge transfer sessions and specialist training provision.
The Candidate

The Applications Engineer will have a proven record in machine tool operation and CNC programming in addition to excellent CAD/CAM awareness ideally AutoDesk and EdgeCAM applications.
You will hold a higher-level engineering or STEM linked qualification and be able to read and interpret engineering drawings in 2D and 3D CAD.
The Applications Engineer will possess excellent communication skills both written and spoken and be able to deliver technical presentations to a wide range of stakeholders including both technical and non-technical audiences.
The ability to travel internationally and work away from home including overnight stays is an essential part of the role to deliver the best possible customer support and training.
