Bouygues UK have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Building Services Engineer – Mechanical (College day release will start from September) to join a bustling and welcoming project team at the Tustin Project in London. Working on our Flagship Regeneration Project on Tustin Estate based in Southeast London (Old Kent Road,SE15). You will be responsible for the delivery primarily of the external aspects of the build. The dimensions of one of the sites are as follows: 12-storey build comprising of 73 new homes of which include multiple duplex apartment



As part of the team, you will undertake various tasks related to building services engineering (Mechanical & Electrical aspects of a building). This apprenticeship offers valuable hands-on experience, allowing you to work alongside experienced professionals while contributing to a significant project



Education Criteria:    



One of the four educational levels required listed below :




  • A Level: BBC with Mathematics and preferably Chemistry or Physics (UCAS: 112)

  • T-level in Construction: Design, Surveying And Planning (Merit or above, UCAS: 120)

  • BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma: DDM in Engineering with Merit in Mathematics and Further Mathematics (UCAS: 128)

  • BTEC Level 3 National Diploma: DD in Engineering with Merit in Mathematics and Further Mathematics (UCAS: 112



Essential Skill set:




  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn

  • Willingness to work outside normal working hours to complete university work/further learning

  • Interest in the Construction industry

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions

  • Attention to detail



Job Purpose and Scope




  • Observe subcontractor tender reviews and assist with M&E design costs

  • Attend meetings with team and MEP Contractors for project planning and coordination

  • Assist in reviewing Contractors' designs, programmes, and progress

  • Learn to monitor and report on procurement and labour schedules

  • Shadow experienced colleagues during Method / Risk / Health and Safety reviews

  • Support monitoring and coordinating M&E design information flow

  • Assist in preparing technical specifications, design reports, and innovative solutions

  • Manage input to Building Information Modelling software for design work
