GS2 are working with our client, a leading environmental consultancy committed to the preservation and enhancement of our natural landscapes. The business provide expert advice and services to a wide range of clients, including local authorities, developers, and private landowners. As part of their ongoing growth, we are seeking a skilled Arboriculture Surveyor to join their team.
What you will do:
As an Arboriculture Surveyor, you will play a vital role in assessing and managing trees within both urban and rural environments. Your expertise will guide our clients in making informed decisions about tree management, ensuring the health, safety, and sustainability of trees. You will be responsible for conducting tree surveys, preparing comprehensive reports, and providing expert advice on tree preservation, risk management, and planning applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed tree surveys and inspections using industry-standard methodologies.
- Assess tree health, stability, and potential hazards, providing recommendations for appropriate actions.
- Prepare detailed arboricultural reports, including Tree Constraints Plans (TCP) and Arboricultural Impact Assessments (AIA).
- Advise clients on tree preservation, management, and legal requirements, including Tree Preservation Orders (TPOs) and conservation area regulations.
- Collaborate with planners, developers, and local authorities to provide arboricultural input into planning applications.
- Use of digital tools for data collection, analysis, and presentation.
- Participate in environmental impact assessments (EIA) and contribute to ecological surveys as required.
- Stay updated on current industry practices, legislation, and emerging trends in arboriculture.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A Level 3 Diploma in Arboriculture or a related field.
- Professional Tree Inspector (PTI) certificate.
- Proven experience in arboricultural surveying, with a strong understanding of tree biology, pathology, and risk assessment.
- Proficiency in using tree surveying software,
- Strong knowledge of UK tree legislation, including TPOs, BS5837, and other relevant guidelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise reports.
- A valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to various sites as required.
