Requirements:


  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE is essential.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one) is required.
  • Passion for Art: A strong background in art and a deep understanding of artistic techniques and principles.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to engage and inspire students, along with strong classroom management abilities.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to teach across various year groups and levels within the secondary setting.
  • Team Player: Willingness to collaborate with other staff members and contribute to the school community.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Deliver Engaging Lessons: Plan and deliver high-quality art lessons that cater to a diverse range of abilities and learning styles.
  • Inspire Creativity: Encourage students to express themselves through various artistic mediums, fostering their creative skills and confidence.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment, ensuring that all students are engaged and motivated.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assess student work, provide constructive feedback, and track progress to ensure all students achieve their potential.
  • Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development of the art curriculum, bringing fresh ideas and innovative approaches to teaching.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with colleagues to create a supportive and stimulating learning environment, participating in departmental and school-wide activities.
