About the Role:
As an Art Teacher, you will play a crucial role in nurturing students' artistic talents and helping them develop their creative skills. You will work closely with a team of dedicated professionals to create and implement engaging art lessons tailored to each student’s abilities.
Key Responsibilities of Art Teacher:
- Develop and implement engaging art lessons, assessing each student’s unique needs and abilities, and setting specific learning goals.
- Provide one-on-one and small group instruction tailored to students’ needs, ensuring they receive the attention and support they need to succeed.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies as necessary to ensure that each student is progressing towards their goals.
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to each student’s education and well-being, sharing insights and strategies to support their development.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported, encouraging positive interactions and a sense of community.
- Use a variety of teaching methods to engage and motivate students, catering to different learning styles and preferences, and making learning enjoyable and effective.
- Keep detailed records of each student’s progress, including assessments, observations, and feedback, and communicate this information to parents, support staff, and other relevant parties to ensure transparency and collaboration.
Requirements of Art Teacher:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Prior experience in teaching art or a related subject is essential.
- Excellent communication skills are crucial for effectively interacting with students, parents, and colleagues, fostering positive relationships.
- Demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain strong, supportive relationships with all members of the school community, creating a positive and collaborative environment.
- Show a deep commitment to helping students develop their artistic skills, exhibiting patience and empathy in interactions.
- Relevant qualifications or training in art education (desirable but not essential).
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
