Job Title: Asbestos Lab Analyst.
Location: Southend-on-Sea, Essex.
Salary / Benefits �24k - �30k + Training + Benefits
Essex based UKAS accredited Asbestos Consultancy who work across the UK on Commercial, Industrial, and Domestic sites are now seeking to take on an Asbestos Lab Analyst. You will be joining an established and longstanding team of lab analysts. You will be responsible for safely conducting bulk sample analysis using correctly calibrated PLM and stereo microscopy, ensuring to fill out job sheets in a timely manner, returning to clients efficiently. You will also be confident in maintaining the companies UKAS accreditation, ensuring work is carried out in line with HSG 248 guidelines and the laboratory is kept tidy in accordance with safe working practices. Consideration will be given to candidates from: Rochford, Rayleigh, Hockley, South Benfleet, Wickford, Stanford-le-Hope, Tilbury, Brentwood, Canvey Island, Romford, Rainham.
Experience & Qualifications:
" Holding the BOHS P401 is essential to the role.
" Will have experience working in the asbestos industry within a UKAS accredited laboratory.
" Well versed in HSG 248 guidelines.
" Excellent observation skills.
" Excellent communication skills.
" Good IT skills, able to keep internal systems up to date and accurate.
The Role:
" Working in line with HSG 248 guidelines to conduct asbestos sample analysis with PLM / stereo microscopy.
" Ensuring to log all samples onto internal systems upon arrival to the laboratory and storing correctly.
" Safely preparing samples for analysis.
" Completing job sheets upon competition of bulk sample analyst, ensuring to return to clients in a timely manner.
" Calibrating equipment to ensure accurate results.
" Ensuring to maintain the companied UKAS accreditation.
" Working in line with safe working practices, cleaning the laboratory.
" Working closely with clients, providing technical support and advice when required.
" Assisting in training new starters.
