About Us: Aspiring Educational Psychologist - Croydon
Academics are seeking a passionate and motivated individual, ideally an aspiring Educational Psychologist, to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA). Academics are working with Primary Schools in Croydon who are setting up new ASD Provisions.
Key Responsibilities: Aspiring Educational Psychologist - Croydon
Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or behavioural challenges
Assist in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs)
Help students engage in classroom activities and develop positive learning habits
Support students' emotional, social, and academic development
Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other staff to create an inclusive learning environment
Contribute to the observation and assessment of students, working with the school's SENCO to develop tailored strategies
Promote positive behaviour management and support students in regulating emotions
Foster strong relationships with parents and caregivers to ensure continuity of support at home and in school
Requirements: Aspiring Educational Psychologist - Croydon
A degree in Psychology or a related field, or someone currently working towards becoming an Educational Psychologist
A genuine interest in supporting children with SEN, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and behavioural difficulties
Previous experience working with children or young people (preferred but not essential)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Patience, empathy, and the ability to build trusting relationships with children
An understanding of safeguarding and child protection (training provided)
