Assembly Supervisor Hixon
Up to £35K Rocksure Recruitment is looking for an Assembly Supervisor to join our client based in the Hixon area. Our Client specialise in producing a high end British made product for the global market and are looking to bring in a candidate to oversee the assembly department.
Assembly Supervisor - Role Overview Organise, motivate and support team to deliver against daily production schedules / works orders to OTIF goals.
Communicate daily, weekly and monthly goals to team.
Train, coach and support team to produce quality products in line with internal and external quality standards and guidelines.
Through quality assembly, proactively support the business to reduce warranty claims.
Ensure equipment and tools are maintained in line with manufacturers guidelines.
Advise of Bill of Material Accuracy and implement engineering changes to assist with component cut ins.
Proactively identify and advise of any potential component shortages to prevent assembly line stoppages.
Work cross functionally other departments to meet company objectives.
Devise, implement and sustain departmental processes, procedures and systems to drive continuous improvement .
Assist with the implementation of lean manufacturing principles, optimising efficiency, productivity and reducing waste.
Continuously develop, train and cross skill team.
Supervise Pilot production schemes and assist engineering and Quality to develop products, improving design and specification.
Assist in the recruitment of personnel.
Assembly Supervisor - Essential Requirements
Detailed knowledge of core mechanical and electrical assembly principles
Understanding of production schedules
Working knowledge of engineering drawings and SOPs and how to interpret these
Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and how to apply these in a production environment.
How to use visual management to improve communication and performance in a production setting
Proven experience in a similar role within an assembly and/or manufacturing setting

Good communication and coaching skills.

Ability to work well with a variety of people and internal teams

A can do, problem solving approach with a forward focused mindset of delivering long lasting improvements

Ability to adapt and thrive on change

Training in lean manufacturing techniques and six sigma is desirable

Training and experience in team leading is essential

Proven track record of meeting production targets and delivering against KPIs
