AWE are looking for an Asset Change and Safety Manager for the Skills Academy to provide relevant and up to date safety advice and guidance to the Skills Academy in line with relevant regulations and legislation. To also drive efficient deliver in relation to asset changes within the academy and associated areas.
Location - Reading / Basingstoke area
Package - £34,400 - £45,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

What will you be required to do?
Accountable for the provision of support in delivering Skills Academy Asset Change strategy requirements
Deliver Skills Academy portfolio of Asset Change in accordance with requirements, operational constraints, time, cost and quality
Deliver Asset Change Requests with focus on ensuring the correct balance between delivery and compliant outcomes
Deliver the planning and coordination of Asset Change Requests within Skills Academy
Provide regular ACR delivery performance data to the Skills Academy
Develop and maintain awareness of latest industry health, safety and environmental standards.
Ensuring that company strategies, policies and management system requirements for conventional health & safety are communicated and understood
Production of health & safety documentation
Managing and ensuring all safety documentation i.e risk assessments etc are all in place and up to date
Support and create the local ESH Improvement Plans (culture, communications, etc)
Promoting learning and improvement through operational briefings, toolbox talks and presentations
Delivery of safety sessions to Apprentices and Staff
Whilst not to be considered a check list, candidates should be able to demonstrate some of the following:
Level 3 Qualification e.g. NVQ Level 3 in Occupational Health & Safety, NEBOSH Construction Certificate or NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
Accredited Risk and COSHH Assessor
Self-confidence to challenge long established processes and activities
Lead by example, visibly demonstrating Company Behaviours
Excellent planning skills with the ability to manage the delivery of several Asset Change requests, requiring cross functional engagement
Leadership, with the ability to develop internal/external relationships and positively influence the delivery of business change requirements
Ability to solve highly complex asset/facility/ESH related problems by applying own delivery skills with consideration and awareness of implications to other asset and operational areas
Safety advisor experience
Investigation and inspection techniques
Aspects of emergency response within AWE
Good knowledge and ability to interpret relevant legislation
ACM trained and experience within AWE
