Job DescriptionBidwells Investment and Property Management team are looking for an Asset Manager to undertake a pivotal role devoted to asset management for one of our most significant investment clients, Trinity College Cambridge. We’re seeking a motivated Asset Manager who will lead in strategising and executing the management of a substantial part of this prestigious investment portfolio. The successful candidate will join the Investment and Property Management Senior Management team.This role focuses on the active management of the Trinity College endowment portfolio. The diverse portfolio encompasses industrial, office, research and development, residential, retail, and rural assets, with a significant portion in ground leases. These assets generate around half of the College's income, offering opportunities for value addition in the short, medium, and long term.Successful candidates must exhibit entrepreneurial flair and the ability to seize opportunities for long term value creation.Key Responsibilities:Cambridge Science Park: Oversee Trinity’s 152-acre freehold ownership, including parkland, lakes, and approximately 2 million sq. ft. of office, laboratory, and amenity buildings. Collaborate closely with the client and the wider Science Park team, including facilities managers, property and asset managers, letting agents, lease consultants, planners, surveyors, project managers, and the CSP director. Develop and implement strategic asset management initiatives, engaging with third-party investor-tenants, occupiers, and neighbouring landowners.Leeds Ground Rent Portfolio: Manage a large estate of mostly freehold ground rent properties in Leeds. Focus on long-term income generation, capital appreciation, and value addition through active management. This includes exploiting marriage value opportunities, site assembly for development and planning promotion, and repositioning existing properties for alternative uses.Bidwells Investment & Property Management Team Senior Management: The ideal candidate would, in addition to asset management duties, be an active part of the Bidwells Investment & Property Management Team Senior Management. This would involve contributions towards team-wide initiatives and people management, as well as strategic generation of new business initiatives, client facing activity, and on-boarding & management of new client mandates.Experience:Solid grounding in property investment management across various asset classes.Proven track record in asset management initiatives and innovative thinking leading to long-term value creation.Strong understanding of the net zero carbon agenda within property investment.Established industry network and natural relationship-building skills.Sensitivity and interest in the heritage and purpose of Trinity College and the University of Cambridge.Character:Open-minded and collaborative.Analytical, with an appreciation for scrutiny.Commercially astute with strong financial awareness.Compelling and diplomatic communicator.Approachable and engaging, fostering strong relationships.Determined and flexible, with a collegiate approach.Empathetic towards long-term value generation and its broader positive impacts.Why Bidwells?We’re a different kind of business.
