Assistant Accountant

  • Location: Central London
  • Job Type: Permanent full-time office-based opportunity
  • Working hours 09:30 – 17:30

I have partnered with a well-established, family-run Property Management company who have a newly created opportunity for an Assistant Accountant. This is a demanding, hands-on role that offers a mix of accounting and operational responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will be a proven Accountant with good technical understanding and experience of transactional accounting and the month-end process. This exciting role requires travel and also supporting the Operations Manager in the management of a UK and European Property Estate so you need to have strong communication and be available to travel on a quarterly basis to Europe.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Handle back-end processing of purchase invoices, office expenses, bank reconciliations, and trial balances.
  • Responsible for all transactional accounting duties across UK & European multi entity structure.
  • Reconciling bank accounts, 8 bank accounts including FX.
  • Assist in the development of annual budgets for the residences and related entities.
  • Aid in the preparation for operational and budgetary audits.
  • Contribute to month-end and year-end finance closing activities.
  • Assist the Director of Operations with daily tasks and deputise on site visits across UK and European private residences.
  • Support the Executive Team’s administrative needs.
  • Quarterly European Business trips, 1–3-night stays.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong accounting background with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with Xero software is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Proven multitasking ability, with the capacity to work on multiple projects for multiple individuals.
