An Assistant Accountant is required for a client based in Fleet, Hampshire. This position will offer a hybrid working pattern. You will be reporting into the Finance Manager and providing support as an Assistant Accountant across the month-end preparation and close. This role will enable you to join a collaborative working environment with the view that this assignment will be extended beyond the initial period of one month.



Assistant Accountant - About The Role



This position requires someone who is already operating at either a Bookkeeper or Assistant Accountant level and as such will be able to make a quick impact on the team. The role will be covering the full life cycle of financial reporting.



Your key responsibilities will be:




  • Cash flow forecasting

  • Assist with both purchase ledger and expense queries

  • Journal entries for the group at month end

  • Review of balance sheet, resolving any discrepancies

  • General ledger management

  • Manage and prepare the quarterly VAT calculations

  • Intercompany payments and reconciliations



The successful Assistant Accountant will have/be:




  • AAT Level 4 qualified

  • Available immediately or imminently

  • Have the ability to commute to the office in Fleet
