Assistant Accountant

Overview

Highly successful, international group require AAT or part or fully qualifed ACA/ACCA studier for a newly created Assistant Accountant position at well situated offices in Guildford, Surrey.

About the role

Reporting to the Financial Controller the Assistant Accountant will be responsible for all transactions relating to Head Office accounting, banking and inter-company accounts. Key duties include:

Accounts Payable

• Posting invoices, gaining authorisations and scheduling pre-payments


• Supplier payment runs and the resolution of supplier queries


• Month-end supplier account reconciliations

Accounts Receivable/Inter-company Accounting

• Inter-company recharges & reconciliations


• Allocating monies received�


• AR reconciliations

Banking

• Posting bank transactions for multiple entities across multiple bank accounts


• Monthly bank reconciliations

Employee Expenses

• Running expense payments using the SAP Concur platform


• Credit card reconciliations

Payroll

• Maintaining employee records and payroll information


• Calculating variable pay and bonus payments


• Payroll journals and Pension admin

VAT return

• Preparation of required information for VAT returns and reclaim


• Assisting with a review of VAT reports and processing journals

General Ledger/Accounting

• Accruals & Prepayments


• Balance sheet reconciliations


• Fixed asset register and depreciation journals

About you

• Applicants will be Graduate Calibre, ideally AAT or part qualified ACCA/ACA, with strong accounting skills


• You will have excellent communication skills and high attention to detail,�


• In addition you will have a good aptitude for Accounting Systems and MS Excel
