We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Accountant to join our clients finance team. The Assistant Accountant will provide support to the senior accounting staff and ensure the smooth running of day-to-day financial operations. This position is ideal for candidates looking to gain practical experience in accounting and develop their financial expertise. Candidates must be part-qualified in AAT, CIMA or ACCA. Our client will pay for the completion of your Accountancy Exams as you progress in the role. Our client is unable to provide Visa sponsorship. Key Responsibilities: Financial Recordkeeping: Assist in maintaining accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Record daily transactions and maintain financial databases, ensuring timely updates. Invoicing and Payments: Prepare, process, and follow up on invoices, ensuring accuracy in billing and payments. Reconcile accounts payable and receivable, ensuring prompt resolution of discrepancies. Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy between the bank records and company accounts. Assisting with Month-End and Year-End Processes: Support the preparation of monthly financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports. Assist with closing entries and preparing documentation for audits. Budget Monitoring: Help monitor the companys budget and provide updates to the senior accountant on any variances or irregularities. Compliance: Ensure all financial practices comply with legal requirements and company policies. Support tax preparation and filing as required. Data Entry and Analysis: Input financial data into accounting software accurately. Conduct basic financial analysis and assist in preparing financial summaries. Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the finance team, including filing, correspondence, and responding to inquiries. Assist with payroll processing when needed. Skills and Qualifications: Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or working towards one). Part-Qualified Accountancy Qualification- AAT, CIMA, ACCA Experience: 1-2+ years of experience in an accounting or finance-related role Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) is advantageous. Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.). Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
