Job Title: Assistant Accountant
Location: Peterhead
Hours: Monday to Friday (9:00am - 5:00pm)- Fully On-Site
Salary: �30,000 - �35,000
Job Overview:
Seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Accountant to join a dynamic accounts team based in Peterhead. This full-time position offers the chance to work within a supportive environment where you'll play a key role in supporting the financial team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and a high level of proficiency in accountancy software.

Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
* Process invoices, payments, and expenses
* Reconcile bank statements and accounts
* Assist with the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
* Support payroll processing and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations
* Monitor and manage accounts payable and receivable
* Assist with VAT returns and other tax-related tasks
* Liaise with external auditors and support audit processes
* Provide support to the senior accountant as required
Requirements:
* HND in Accounting or equivalent qualification
* A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar accounting role
* Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
* Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills
* Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero)
* Strong understanding of financial regulations and accounting principles
* Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
* Excellent communication and organizational skills
* Strong work ethic with the ability to meet deadlines
