Assistant Accountant

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, Full-time

Are you ready to take your accounting career to the next level? We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join our client's team. Supporting the Senior Accountant, you will play a vital role in ensuring effective receivables and treasury functions, aligning with the invoicing policies. Key Responsibilities:

• Manage billing operations, including organising the billing timetable, preparing invoices, and improving billing systems


• Lead credit control efforts, ensuring alignment with policies and escalating as needed


• Provide weekly debtor reports with KPIs and actionable commentary for the Senior Leadership Team


• Maintain the direct debit system and resolve related queries


• Handle bank transactions, including daily postings and monthly reconciliations


• Administer parent queries via email and phone


• Calculate claims, ensuring legislative compliance


• Support month-end procedures, including journals for accruals, prepayments, and fixed assets


• Assist the Finance Assistant with bookkeeping tasks, such as supplier invoices and reconciliations


• Collaborate with the Senior Accountant on the annual statutory audit

Skills, Experience, and Training Requirements:

• Qualifications: Minimum Level 3 AAT qualified (or actively studying towards an accountancy qualification)


• Experience: Ideally, 5+ years in a similar role


• Skills: Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organisational skills, with a keen attention to detail
