Assistant Accountant

Anderson Knight are currently recruiting for an organisation based in Shettleston who are looking to add an Assistant Accountant to their busy finance team. The role offers hybrid working and a salary of �27-30,000 based on experience.

Duties & responsibilities:

• You will be responsible for accurately preparing and posting monthly accounting journals related to depreciation, leases, and fixed assets. This includes ensuring all entries are accurate, timely, and in compliance with accounting standards. You will work closely with the finance team to maintain precise records and facilitate smooth month-end processes.


• You will provide essential support in the preparation and reporting of management accounts, including financial analysis, and ensuring the accuracy of financial statements. This role involves collecting, analysing, and summarizing financial data to help the management team make informed decisions.


• You will be tasked with managing and updating asset registers, ensuring that all fixed assets are properly recorded and tracked. Additionally, you will oversee the reconciliation of lease accounts, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with relevant lease standards.


• You will collaborate with various departments, providing financial guidance and services to support operational efficiency and decision-making. This includes assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, ensuring that each department has the necessary financial insight to achieve its goals.


• You will work closely with the Group Accountant and Head of Finance to assist in a wide range of financial tasks, including reporting, analysis, and ensuring adherence to company financial policies and procedures. Your support will be integral to the smooth running of the finance department and achieving broader organisational objectives.
