TITLE: ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT

REPORTS TO: Group Finance Director

REPORTS IN: None

HOURS: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday
\n
SALARY: £28,000 to £30,000 per annum
\n
\n
This is a great opportunity for an accountant with some reporting experience to take responsibility for the full reporting function and develop the role over time to become a Finance Manager or a Financial Controller. We are committed to helping the successful candidate develop their skills and experience.
\n
\n
Main Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:
\n
\n- Collaborate with Financial Managers and other team members to successfully execute various accounting tasks including but not limited to bookkeeping, postings etc.
\n- Maintain company ledgers and daily financial transactions.
\n- Create financial documents such as bills, invoices, payables, receivables and purchase orders where needed.
\n- Identify discrepancies in ledgers and accounts, tracking them to the source and correcting them.
\n- Liaise and manage payroll activities with concerned personnel.
\n- Coordinate and manage payment and billing details of external service providers, contractors and vendors.
\n- Verify payments and deposits made through the company account.
\n- Monthly reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts
\n- Month end journals including payroll, accruals, pre-payments, depreciation, etc

Qualifications
\n
\n- BSc in Accounting and Finance /AAT/AIA qualified required.
\n- Minimum of three years' experience as Assistant Accountant. required\n
\n- Experience in accounting for social housing and property management is required\n
\n- Experience in Xero essential\n
\n- Intermediate level Excel ability (Vlookups, Pivot tables, ability to work with large spreadsheets)
\n- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads under pressure
\n- Willingness to learn and develop
\n
