Assistant Accountant

This well-established business, based in Derbyshire, are market leaders in their field, seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to support the efficient operation of the accounts department.

Your new role
This is a varied role. You will work within the finance team by managing day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and assisting with financial reporting and analysis.

• Assist with preparation of the monthly management accounts, including analysis and posting to ledgers
• Calculation and analysis of accruals and prepayments
• Analysis of invoices
• Reconcile bank accounts and assign sales invoices
• Intercompany postings and reconciliation
• Maintain and reconcile the Fixed Assets register
• Prepare/review weekly payment runs for approval
• Assist with reviews of stock provisions
• Assist in the preparation and submission of VAT returns
• Provide information and analysis required for audits

What you'll need to succeed

• AAT qualified /part-qualified accountant
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong analytical and Excel skills
• SAP systems knowledge
• Experience working in a similar role
