Exciting Opportunity: Assistant Buyer�(Maternity Leave Cover)

Location: Linford Wood

Contract: 12-Month Fixed-Term (Maternity Leave Cover)

Start Date: Ideally ASAP (with handover period)

About the Role:

Quality Personnel is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assitant Buyer to join our client's team on a 12-month maternity leave cover contract. This is an incredible chance to showcase your skills, contribute to an established team, and play a key role in ensuring smooth operations within the purchasing function. Key Responsibilities:




  • Take charge of the daily review of the buyer workbench using the ERP system

  • Raise, maintain, and expedite Purchase Orders for stock and non-stock items

  • Prepare and deliver accurate pricing quotes for design, sales, intercompany, and incoming freight teams

  • Build lasting relationships with suppliers, ensuring quality and timely deliveries

  • Manage part parameters, stocking levels, and price lists within the ERP system

  • Stay ahead by notifying and mitigating any cost increases

  • Create new part numbers when needed, ensuring smooth workflow

  • Analyze supplier KPIs to improve delivery performance and stock availability

  • Update and maintain training resources to keep the team on top of their game



Key Performance Criteria:




  • Achieve KPIs and performance targets to ensure seamless operation and continuous improvement



What We're Looking For:




  • Experience: Proven background in purchasing administration or a similar role

  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); ERP experience (Epicor is a bonus)

  • Qualification: Eagerness to study for your CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) certification

  • Knowledge: Basic understanding of engineering drawings is a plus

  • Unmatched attention to detail and exceptional admin skills

  • Proactive, with a "can-do" attitude and a knack for problem-solving

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with all levels of staff

  • The ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure

  • A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
