Are you looking to develop or progress your Design Management Career? Are you looking for a role working on large scale construction, with the support from a design manager mentor?
My client is a regional main contractor with a large pipeline of secured works across the Manchester region. They require an Assistant Design Manager to join their Manchester team.
The Assistant Design Manager will be working on a range of commercial projects across a variety of sectors. These are all large-scale design and build projects. Previous experience within apartments is advantageous although not essential.
As an Assistant Design Manager, you will have excellent organisation and communication skills. You will register received drawings on the information system, approve drawings and produce drawings via AutoCAD drawing system. You will also co-ordinate design information in accordance with Building Regulations.
Knowledge, skills and experience required
• Requiring education/ qualifications to a level of NVQ 4, Degree, HND, HNC or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of Building Regulations
• Basic knowledge of AutoCAD drawing systems
• Strong communication, negotiation and time management
The ideal candidate will have excellent technical expertise in the construction of apartment building types, as well as having knowledge of current design. The successful Assistant Design Manager will have outstanding IT skills including CAD. You will also have excellent communication skills both oral and written and enjoy motivating and influencing people.
