Finance professionals may not necessarily think that their role is central to these types of goals, nothing could be further from the truth. In the current climate being able to effectively manage budgets, attain value for money, maximise assets and ensure surpluses are effectively re-invested is of the highest importance. You may have begun your career as an industry trained Management Accountant, or as a Trainee in a Chartered Accountancy practice or perhaps progressed in the public/3rd Sector. Regardless of your route to qualification it is your experience, attitude and desire that will set you apart when applying for this role. The key headlines of the job: To oversee and manage the Finance function of the Group and associated Companies. To oversee and assist in the production and distribution of timely financial management information, to include all of financial information and key statistical data and to identify underlying trends and recommend changes or take remedial action. To develop, implement and maintain finance policies, procedures and related documents and ensure that these are regularly reviewed against best practice and employment legislation. To ensure the wider finance team and Organisation are kept abreast of relevant changes in accounting and taxation law and understand the impact of these changes. To liaise with Group Auditors in the production of the Statutory Accounts To represent the Finance team on relevant business projects, including new business and TUPE transfers, and make representation on behalf of the Organisation at meetings with internal and external bodies. To carry out regular supervision and annual appraisals in line with the Organisations Policies. The profile of the ideal candidate: A full accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Proven experience in management accounting, with a minimum of 3 years or more in a supervisory role. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Excellent communication and presentation abilities. In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Demonstrate experience of use of computerised finance packages and experience in excel The appointed candidate will join a successful department and lead a team of 12 staff, while reporting in to the Director of Finance.
