We are currently looking to recruit an Assistant Estimator to support the land and commercial teams within a leading housebuilding organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to further their career in residential construction and gain exposure to the full land bidding and cost planning process.
For this Assistant Estimator role, the successful candidate will work closely with the Estimator and Commercial Director, assisting in the production of accurate land bid appraisals and the management of cost information. This role will involve cross-functional collaboration with teams including land, technical, construction, and sales.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in preparing detailed land bid appraisals for new opportunities.
Help maintain and update cost databases, pricing templates and benchmarking tools.
Liaise with internal departments to ensure commercial input is accurately reflected in bids.
Support the development of cost plans and viability assessments.
Contribute to the preparation of reports and presentations for senior stakeholders.
Take part in technical and commercial meetings to understand project requirements.
Provide general support to the Estimator and wider commercial team.
Requirements for this Assistant Estimator role:
Previous experience in a construction or commercial environment is beneficial.
A relevant qualification or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar is desirable.
Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
Confident communicator with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Eagerness to learn and develop within a structured and supportive team.
