Assistant Financial Accountant (Flexible Working)
Dorset
£34,000 - £38,000 per annum (DOE)
Monday to Friday - 37hrs per week.
This role is working from home with the requirement to travel to an office a minimum of one day per week - locations include Wareham, Ferndown or Poole.

Purpose of the role:
Responsible for the coordination and delivery of external regulatory reporting for the Aster Group including VAT, NROSH and Annual Financial Reports. To support the group finance team with assistance as required.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of the statutory accounts in accordance with the Group's timetable, supporting on the group's subsidiary companies; including, but not limited to the preparation of year end reporting schedules in line with external auditors' requirements.
Assist with the preparation of the Office of National Statistic returns including Annual Business Survey, Annual Purchase Survey, Economic Impact Report.
To support the Financial Accountant in the preparation of the quarterly NROSH submissions.
Assist in the preparation of all the group's entity VAT returns, including submission, payments and handling queries.
Prepare relevant balance sheet reconciliations including VAT control accounts and reserve accounts.
Support the Project Accountant with the day-to-day maintenance of the finance reporting and budgeting system (Adaptive).
Support the Group Financial Controller and Financial Accountants undertake due diligence on acquisitions to the group.
To coordinate the monthly journal review process across all finance divisions
Support the Fixed asset reporting team including, but not limited to:
a. Periodic review of assets for potential obsolescence and impairment
b. Reconcile housing stock between the Hub and A4K
c. The preparation of current asset housing property fixed asset notes.
Assist with any other external reporting task as required.
Accountabilities / Requirements:
Educated to GCSE and A-Level Standard (or equivalent), including GCSE passes in English and Maths. Relevant degree education or AAT level three or above would be an advantage.
Part-qualified member of or studying towards a recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA/CIMA/ACCA) is desirable.
The role is suitable for a part qualified accountant, or in the absence of professional qualifications three years of relevant experience. Relevant experience includes working as part of a financial reporting team, management accounting, budgeting. working with financial systems and working as part of a larger team to achieve common goals.
Strong all-round IT skills with good level excel skills is essential. Experience and knowledge of specialist financial systems is desirable.
A track record of independent problem solving and the confidence and personal skills to liaise directly with professional service providers and senior colleagues is desirable.
Ability to analyse, interpret and present information clearly and concisely.
Ability to manage workload and deliver outputs to specific deadlines.
Willing to travel to office locations based in Wareham, Ferndown or Poole.
