Job Title: Assistant Headteacher (Personal Development)
Location: Norton College, Tewkesbury, GL20 8UQ
Salary: Up to £48,000 per annum depending on experience (not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday 8.30am-4.00pm
Contract: Permanent, Term time only
Start: September 2025 or before if possible

As part of our growth in service, we are looking for a Assistant Headteacher to join our amazing team at Norton College in Tewkesbury.
About the role
The Assistant Headteacher will undertake the normal responsibilities of a teacher and be a member of the senior leadership team. They will work independently, alongside SLT to define, articulate, and implement the school’s vision and values.
Working closely in partnership with the Senior Leadership Team, SENCo, parents, Governors and external agencies to improve, maintain and monitor high standards of the quality of education across the school. All members of the Senior Leadership Team are expected to be flexible to ensure the most effective organisation and delivery of learning. Other specific duties and responsibilities as part of the Senior Leadership Team will be allocated once a candidate has been appointed.
You will ensure that the opportunities and learning experiences are wide ranging and inclusive for all students, exercise a key role in the strategic development of Personal Development, developing a clear strategy and implementation plans. Lead on the development, implementation and monitoring of the PSHE and RSHE curriculum and ensure careers education is delivered in accordance with the up to date and relevant guidance.
Lead on the development and implementation of Preparation for Adulthood curriculum. Organise and quality assure work experience placements for all pupils, select and arrange guest speakers, events and trips for students to develop their learning in these areas.
