Assistant Head Teacher - SEMH School in Altrincham

Simply Education is delighted to be working with an outstanding SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school in Altrincham, who are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Head Teacher to join their exceptional leadership team. About the Role:

As an Assistant Head Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in the strategic and operational leadership of the school, working closely with senior leaders to ensure a high standard of education and well being for our students. You will lead and support both academic and pastoral development within the school, ensuring that each child's individual needs are met in a nurturing and supportive environment. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a positive, inclusive culture within the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head Teacher and senior leadership team in the overall management and leadership of the school.
  • Lead and manage a team of staff, ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning across the school.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student's social, emotional, and academic outcomes.
  • Promote and ensure a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Oversee the implementation of SEMH strategies and ensure they are effectively integrated across the curriculum.
  • Provide mentorship and support for staff, particularly in relation to SEMH practices and well being initiatives.

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for an individual who has:

  • Previous experience in a leadership role within a SEMH or special education setting.
  • A passion for improving the lives of children with SEMH needs.
  • Strong leadership skills and experience of managing a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • A deep understanding of SEMH needs and how to address them within the educational setting.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to managing change and challenges.
  • A commitment to creating an inclusive, safe, and supportive learning environment for all students.
