Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Milton Keynes (Hybrid) - Up to �38,000 plus �4,500 car allowance.



We are working on behalf of a Civils and Infrastructure Contractor who are actively looking to recruit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, with a background in either civils or groundworks projects, to join their growing commercial department.



Our client is seeking a motivated individual who is keen to develop their skill set and grow within a successful commercial team with a planned career path available. A working knowledge of NEC Contracts is desired.



The role is a hybrid role where you will manage your week across time in the office and time on site, so you must be happy and prepared to travel.



Overview




  • Responsible for assisting the Project Quantity Surveyor in cost planning and commercial management throughout the entire life cycle of the project from inception to post completion.



Job Role




  • Assist Project Quantity Surveyors in preparation of interim and final accounts.

  • Assist in the receipt of payments once interim accounts are certified.

  • Assist in the production of monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVP) reports.

  • Assist Project Quantity Surveyors in managing day to day commercial and contract activities.

  • Assist Project Quantity Surveyors in sub-contract procurement ensuring best value.

  • Assist Project Quantity Surveyors in sub-contract valuations and final accounts.

  • Learn the working practices of NEC 3 and JCT Conditions of Contract.

  • Assist in gathering information for preparation of compensation events/variations (depending on form of contract).

  • Develop understanding of programmes and sequencing of construction activities.

  • Ability to undertake site measures when required.

  • Work closely with operational teams.

  • Be able to work clearly and accurately under pressure and to tight timescales.

  • Be able to think logically and laterally.

  • Ability to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.
