We are seeking a motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the team, playing a vital role in supporting the commercial operations and ensuring the financial success of projects.



The Role:

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with the senior surveying team to manage and control costs on a variety of construction projects. This role is perfect for someone looking to develop their career in quantity surveying while contributing to the financial management of projects. Key responsibilities include:




  • Cost Management: Assisting in the preparation and management of project budgets, cost estimates, and financial reports.

  • Contract Administration: Supporting the preparation and administration of contracts, including managing payments, variations, and claims.

  • Measurement and Valuation: Assisting in the measurement and valuation of works, both on-site and from drawings, ensuring accurate and fair valuations.

  • Subcontractor Management: Engaging with subcontractors, preparing tender documents, and evaluating quotes to ensure cost-effective procurement.

  • Financial Reporting: Assisting in the preparation of monthly financial reports, providing accurate cost forecasts and identifying potential risks.

  • Collaboration: Working closely with project managers, site teams, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered within budget and on time.



Requirements:




  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar Assistant Quantity Surveyor role is essential.

  • Location: Candidates must be based within an hour's commute of Chesham, Buckinghamshire.

  • Skills:

    • Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

    • Proficiency in quantity surveying software and tools.
