Position: Assistant Team Manager - Safeguarding Team
Location: Tameside Council
Hourly Rate: �42.00 per hour
About the Role:
Ackerman Pierce is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Team Manager to join the Safeguarding Team at Tameside Council. This role offers a unique opportunity to play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people in the community by providing leadership and support to the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Team Manager in the day-to-day management and supervision of the Safeguarding Team.
- Provide leadership and guidance to social workers, ensuring high standards of practice are maintained.
- Manage a complex caseload, including high-risk and sensitive cases.
- Oversee the assessment, planning, implementation, and review of cases, ensuring statutory requirements are met.
- Chair and contribute to multi-agency meetings, including case conferences, strategy meetings, and core group meetings.
- Support and mentor social workers, including those undertaking ASYE, through regular supervision and professional development.
- Ensure timely and effective responses to safeguarding concerns and promote best practices in child protection.
- Conduct audits and reviews of casework to ensure continuous improvement in service delivery.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive case records in accordance with legal and policy requirements.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure a holistic approach to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker with a degree in Social Work or equivalent.
- Registered with Social Work England.
- Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding.
- Proven ability to manage and lead a team within a child protection context.
- Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Thorough understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices.
