An exciting Assistant Treasury & VAT Accountant opportunity has arisen to join a well-established forward-thinking Public Sector organisation on a permanent full time basis. My client is looking for an individual with existing Treasury & VAT experience who is looking for a role that they can shape and to add value to.

Key responsibilities of the Assistant Treasury & VAT Accountant

  • Support the day to day treasury activities of the organisation
  • VAT analysis and return, pulling these together for the Senior Treasury & VAT Accountant to have oversight of
  • Analyse financial data, identify trends and variances and provide insights to support decision-making processes
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement effective financial controls and Processes
  • Participate in financial system improvements and contribute to the enhancement of financial reporting capabilities
  • Stay updated with changes in financial regulations, policies, and best practices, supporting
  • their implementation within the team

Required skills and experience of the Assistant Treasury & VAT Accountant

  • A recognised accountancy qualification / part qualification (CIPFA,ACA,ACCA,CIMA) or QBE
  • Previous experience completing VAT returns
  • Experience of applying technical accounting knowledge as part of financial management practices.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills
