Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Assistant Manager to join our Client's team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient supply chain processes, and maintaining high standards of safety and productivity. This position requires strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of warehouse management systems, and the ability to manage logistics effectively.



Responsibilities




  • Oversee and managing all staff duties in warehouse, distribution, and deliveries.

  • Load and unload trucks in line with company policy ensuring health and safety requirements are maintained and accurate records kept. Completing daily logs.

  • Keep the warehouse clean and tidy ensuring all items are stored correctly.

  • Using the appropriate machinery where required in line with the safe operation of machinery.

  • Follow safety procedures at all times including using the appropriate safety equipment.

  • Ensure building and assets kept to a high standard; security in place for building/stock etc; spot checks on high value items

  • Increases management's effectiveness by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; communicating values, strategies, and objectives; assigning accountabilities; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; developing incentives; developing a climate for offering information and opinions; providing educational opportunities.

  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organisation standards.

  • Build company image by collaborating with customers, community organizations, and employees; enforcing ethical business practices.

  • Ensure that the warehouse is kept in a tidy and safe condition and that orders to and from the warehouse are correctly booked in and out. Cleaning and maintaining work area.

  • Loading and unloading trucks, order picking, wrapping products, packing, labelling, shipping and receiving.

  • Responsible for quality control to ensure that no damaged product is sent out. Loading trucks in a manner that allows the driver to unload in a logistical manner.

  • Liaising with all Staff, Managers, Shipping Companies, Building security and landlord and wider team as required.

  • The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.

  • FLT licence is preferred



Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract



Contract length: 6 months



Pay: £30,000.00 per year
