Associate Consultant - Public Affairs team
Hybrid (3 days in our central London office)
This role is open to applicants who already have around 18 months' experience in some area of public affairs or policy whether from an in-house role, Parliament, a think-tank or charity.
Our Associate Consultants work on a variety of client accounts across the Public Affairs team which in turn works closely with the Corporate Communications and SSV teams (Sustainability and Social Value); Our clients' businesses cross a range of sectors including Creative Industries, Transport, Health, Food and Drink, Built Environment, Financial Services, Technology and Sport.
The role includes monitoring key political, media and commercial developments and communicating them to our clients in a timely manner. This could be emerging or changing Government policy, scrutiny of policy and progress of legislation in parliament, and major developments that might impact the client’s business. This will involve analysing Government announcements, new legislation and media coverage then consolidating these before sending them to our clients with an analysis of why it matters.
You will also play an important role supporting the wider account team in delivering communications plans, helping the team to prepare for client meetings, events and engagement programmes and pitches. You will play a lead role in providing research and insight to support new business activities.
In terms of your own growth, you can expect to develop judgement and show initiative about what clients need to know about and why; Start to spot potential opportunities for business development; and build an understanding of the client, and how politics and media affects the client’s commercial success.

We have joined the UN’s Race to Zero campaign by signing the SME Climate Commitment to halve our greenhouse gas emissions before 2030, achieve net zero before 2050, and disclose our progress on a yearly basis. Our Environment working group oversees these goals, helping Lexington to take steps to make more sustainable procurement decisions, improve energy efficiency, reduce waste and inspire everyone who works at Lexington to live greener lifestyles.
