Associate Mechanical Engineer - Data Centre's | 3 Days WFH

Our Client is A boutique MEP Design Consultancy of around 30 engineers that are going through a growth phase to keep up with recent project wins. This consultancy work predominantly on Data Centre/ Mission Critical schemes will large blue chip clientele. They are an extremely forward thinking business allowing for 3 Days WFH where you can pick your days in the office.

They are currently looking for an Associate level Mechanical Engineer. Someone responsible for all elements of project delivery, whether this be Design / Construction / Feasibility / Fee Bids / Resource planning etc.

In addition to the above, the employee shall provide a supporting role to colleagues within the business and provide assistance and quality assurance.

You will be expected to be a strong communicator, concentrate on business development and generating billable work by contributing to the creation and implementation of internal processes, creating and maintaining positive client and architect relationships, and developing leads for new business.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Design activities such as calculations, report and spec writing etc (including peer reviews)
  • Leadership role on all RIBA design stages
  • Leadership and managing work packages and resources to ensure support and guidance is provided to team members including the mentoring of junior staff
  • Project technical audits
  • Lead representative at project meetings and workshops
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
  • Fee bids
  • Building long term relationships and focus on repeat business
  • Business development
  • Contribution to business wide issues and Quality Standards

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or building services engineering
  • 10 Years experience in a MEP Design Consultancy
  • Membership with either CIBSE and/or IET.
  • Chartered status, or equivalent experience.

Essential skills:

  • Strong Mechanical Engineering technical knowledge within the building services arena
  • Ability to lead both a mechanical team as well multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong commercial acumen, i.e, contract administration, procurement, fee proposals, resource expenditure.
  • Ability to lead and demonstrate designs to the design team and client.
