Associate / Senior Associate - Insurance

A market-leading Financial Institutions and Directors and Officers insurance team is seeking a talented Senior Associate or Associate with a minimum of 4 years PQE . This team advises insurers and reinsurers on some of the largest losses in the insurance market and handles complex coverage litigation, arbitration, mediation, and global claims monitoring. Role Overview The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on high-profile cases involving complex investment products, hedging transactions, portfolio management, and more. The team handles a diverse range of insurance claims, providing practical advice on risk management, corporate governance, and drafting FI and D&O policy wordings. Key Responsibilities Handling insurance claims of all sizes from activities worldwide. Managing complex coverage litigation, arbitration, and mediation. Monitoring global claims and providing strategic input. Drafting FI and D&O policy wordings and offering risk management advice. Representing insurers and reinsurers in disputes related to investment products, mis-selling claims, regulatory investigations, and more. Advising on coverage issues for D&O claims across various sectors, including commercial enterprises and not-for-profits. Participating in defense work for UK financial service firms and directors and officers. Regularly interacting with international colleagues and local counsel on cross-jurisdictional cases. Skills & Experience Minimum 4 years PQE with strong legal ability and initiative. Excellent coverage technical skills and experience in managing a varied caseload. Strong communication skills and attention to detail. Experience in FI and D&O insurance coverage and liability. Excellent academics and a willingness to develop knowledge.
