An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and talented Associate Structural Engineer to join an award-winning consultancy in their Cardiff office.

As an Associate Structural Engineer  you will assist in the design, analysis, and implementation of structural solutions for a wide range of projects including healthcare, residential, commercial, education and more.

Responsibilities


  • Lead and manage structural engineering projects from concept to completion
  • Engage directly with clients, attending meetings to understand their needs and provide expert advice.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians
  • Perform structural analysis and design for building projects, including steel, concrete, timber, and masonry structures
  • Develop detailed design drawings and calculations, ensuring safety, feasibility, and efficiency
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to deliver high-quality results
  • Conduct site visits to assess the structural progress and ensure adherence to design specifications

Requirements


  • BEng/MSc in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • 8 years' worth of design experience
  • Chartered or near-chartered status (MICE/MIStructE)
  • Experience working towards British standards on Eurocodes
  • Experience working with all major materials including concrete, steel, masonry and timber
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software and AutoCAD
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
