Job Advert: Operational Leader - Attendance Support Team

Contract: 6 months initially

Pay: �325 Per Day Umbrella

Location: West London, Hybrid

We're seeking a dynamic leader to head our Attendance Support team and revolutionize school attendance. This role is your chance to make a real difference in children's lives.

Your Mission:

  • Boost Attendance: Lead initiatives to address poor school attendance, ensuring compliance with the Education Act 1996 Section 444.
  • Expert Collaboration: Work closely with schools, health services, social care, and the voluntary sector to create effective attendance interventions.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Align with Social Care, Fostering, SEND, YOS, and other agencies to support children's attendance.
  • Innovate & Lead: Develop and manage programs to improve attendance rates and lead the Attendance Support team to success.
  • Train & Empower: Provide training for school attendance leads, fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Monitor & Oversee: Track attendance for all children, ensuring accountability and progress.

Person Specification:

  • Professional qualification in related field (e.g., education, youth work)
  • Ability to undertake occasional evening and weekend work, including residential weekends
  • Essential: Willing to take majority of annual leave during school holidays
  • Leading, managing, and delivering evidence-based interventions with children, young people, and their families with complex needs
  • Desirable: Senior Leadership Team experience within a schools' context (or similar)
  • Successful multi-agency and partnership working
  • Building capability and capacity of other professionals
  • Assessing and managing risk and vulnerability with an emphasis on safeguarding
  • Leading and managing practitioners in delivering support to families with complex needs
  • Managing teams to deliver outcomes and results
  • Broad knowledge of relevant legislation and government policy regarding children and families
  • Knowledge of policy and practice related to children's participation in education, employment, and training
  • Understanding key issues relevant to child and family development
  • Ability to form and maintain professional relationships with children and families
  • ICT and service-specific software proficiency
  • Analytical skills to interpret and use statistics and management information
  • Ability to build relationships with Headteachers and Senior School Leaders, families, and other agencies
