The Maintenance Team are responsible for manufacturing equipment. Ensure Downtime is kept to a minimum and productivity is high through reactive and preventative maintenance as well as conditional monitoring and continuous improvement, taking ownership of tasks carried out. The manufacturing equipment ranges from New State-of-the art Filling and Capping machines, Freeze driers, Freezers, Robots, Printing and labelling, to bespoke lines and older equipment. Using fault-finding skills to identify and rectify equipment faults in a timely fashion, recording details and identifying the root cause, support in new equipment installations (including validation), and various improvement projects. Identifying critical spares, ordering and maintaining stock.
Your new role
This role is responsible for the design, service, and installation of PLC / Automation within regulations, along with the validation of existing / new equipment to the relevant standards. This is an extremely varied role that will require you to develop varied skills, including:

  • Developing maintenance schedules to improve cost-effective use of equipment.
  • Identify improvements in equipment and processes that will increase the output/yield of systems.
  • Update, develop and maintain technical documentation e.g., specifications, design drawing, design calculations, reports, procedures, and documents required by the quality management systems and maintenance manuals.
  • Provide expert PLC / Automation Assistance / Fault Diagnosis / problem-solving as and when required.
  • Identify and design our repeated failures and develop, participate in, and manage continuous improvement projects to improve performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Carry out risk assessments / method statements and ensure all work is carried out within H&S Regulations.
  • Lead and support tasks on High-Speed automated equipment including start of the art filling, capping, labelling equipment, leading in design and technology.
  • Review and update PLC critical spares.
  • Training and mentoring of others as part of continuous improvement.


What you'll need to succeed

  • PLC / Automation Design experience.
  • Experience with PLC / PC control systems.
  • The ability to read, interpret and apply information from files, drawings, catalogues, reports, and manuals.
  • The ability to identify and design our repeated failures and develop, participate in, and manage continuous improvement projects.
  • A high level of self-motivation.
  • Computer literacy.


Desirable:

  • Experience of similar process machinery (Filling, Capping, Labelling and Printing).
  • Experience in a Cgmp environment.
  • Experience with equipment validation.
