About the role

Main Areas of Responsibility:
To work alongside the Engineering Supervisors & cover holidays.
To monitor the daily running of the depot and all engineering staff, and supervising in the absence of the Workshop Planner and Engineering Supervisor
To carry out repairs and diagnosis on vehicles as required.
To allocate planned and unplanned work to engineering staff.
To manage labour overtime in line with set authorisation limits, as set by Engineering Manager.
Liaise with the operations department to deal with changeovers and breakdowns in the most effective way to minimise lost mileage
In the absence of the Cleaning Supervisor, manage vehicle cleaning, fuelling, oil checks and parking.
Processing vehicle defect cards in line with engineering standard operating procedures.
x1 Nights pay rates: £21.13 per hour
x1 Shifts pay rate: £19.56 per hour
Working hours: 37hrs p/w
x1 Nights: Sun -Thurs or Mon -Fri (22:00-06:00) a degree of flexibility to cover when Supervisor is off.
x1 Shifts : 5 over 7 shift Early & Lates (06:00-14:00, 12:00 20:00)- a degree of flexibility to cover Supervisor shifts when off.
Holidays: up to 30 days per year + bank holidays
About you
You must have a minimum level 3 NVQ standard qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent (i.e., City & Guilds level 1 & 2) in a relevant Vehicle Repair subject.
Must have a clean UK drivers' licence.
You must be a UK resident and be able to provide proof of right to work.
You must be willing to do a drugs & alcohol test should you be successful in obtaining the position.
