Taylor Blackwood Associates are recruiting for an automotive mechanical machinist.
The Machinist role will be centred around supporting re-manufacture, working in the torque converter assessing, machining, assembly, final inspection of product to supporting other UK sites.
With a wide variety of skills required experience using manual equipment such as lathes, drillers and welding equipment are essential.
Key Accountabilities
- To be able to use of engineering equipment such as lathes, drillers, air tools and welding equipment to manufacture any component required by department
- To follow production procedures and work instructions where possible
- To be able to access and remanufacture production components required by department
- To complete this in adequate time and required quality standards.
- To train others if required
- To be able to work as part of a team
- To support other areas in the department when needed
- Completion of relevant paperwork and daily check sheets
- To keep work area clean and tidy
Requirements, experience, and education
- Machine shop experience, NVQ level 2 (if possible)
- Basic manual lathe machining experience
- Basic drilling machine experience
- Use of measuring equipment; Digital Vernier, Micrometres
- Manufacture of components to specific tolerances
