AWS Cloud Security Architect - Outside IR35

Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit an AWS Cloud Security Architect for a 6 month contract on a rate of £600-£700/day Outside IR35. This role will be a hybrid working model with 1 day of the week in the office.Responsibilities:- Define and enforce Architecture Security Principles and ensure compliance across all IT domains, such integration, application, data, and infrastructure.- Define standards and patterns as part of the Architecture function team.- Ensuring access controls and secure mechanisms are in place.- Collaborate with Cloud Team, Cyber Security, and external suppliers to maintain stringent security protocols.- Facilitate secure connectivity between AWS Cloud and our On-Premises data centres.- Act as a trusted Advisory on areas of security for the organisation.- Assist on occasions with chairing the Architecture Review Board- Work towards producing and Incident Response Plan for our cloud services.Essential Skills:- At least 3 years’ experience in a Senior Cloud Security Cloud role with extensive experience defining secure and robust architecture.- Strong written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and at short notice to a mix of technical and business audiences.- Strong stakeholder management skills, comfortable dealing with challenge and ambiguity.- Experience assessing and documenting the existing functional landscape for both commercial off the shelf products and in-house developed Java applications hosted on-premises.- Identify functional improvements to prepare the applications to be migrated to Amazon Web Services.- In-dept experience identifying and defining security controls within AWS.- Identify roles, operating model and service management policy and procedures.- Understanding of how to secure SOAP and REST APIs, API Gateways & API ManagementDesirable Skills:- Understanding of Public sector challenges and constraints- Understanding of DevSecOps and software development frameworks and how security plays a role in this space.If you would like to hear more about this opportunity, please get in touch.
