We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced AWS Java DevOps Engineer to join our clients expanding team within an R&D-led global data solutions leader. You will join an exciting new project working with a key product which is being considerably upgraded and the focus is on delivering the right outcomes for customers. This is an AWS, IaC (Terraform, Cloud Formation) and Java development environment so skills in these areas are essential.
AWS Java DevOps Engineer Role and Responsibilities:
- Designing and building highly scalable PaaS services on AWS
- Working closely with internal delivery teams from initial concept and design to implementation, build and support.
- Day-to-day deployment, testing and configuration of software releases, pipelines, monitoring tools and other supporting technologies.
- Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using automation tools
- Working with container-based and IaC technologies such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, Docker etc
- Automating DevOps tasks as part of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/ CD)
AWS Java DevOps Engineer Skills and Experience:
- Detailed experience of AWS and ideally VPC with experience of coding in Java
- Proven track record of building Infrastructure as code using Terraform or Cloud Formation
- Experience with PaaS technologies, containerization principles and frameworks such as Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EC2, Fargate, EKS etc
- Strong knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools such as TICK stack, ELK stack, Splunk, CloudWatch etc.
- Experience in working with Agile methodologies and DevOps principles.
- Knowledge of cloud security and governance
The role involves building, maintaining and optimising the companys cloud-hosted PaaS infrastructure by supporting development teams to build and release their code in an effective manner. You should be passionate about using the latest technologies and being at the forefront of Cloud architecture.
