Azure Data Engineer: Azure, Data, Cloud, Insurance
A Specialist Insurer is seeking a skilled Azure Data Engineer to join their team on a contract basis as they embark on a transformative journey to enhance their digital platform and offerings. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will play a crucial role in the implementation of their Data Platform, starting early 2025.
This is a hands-on technical role, so you will be well versed in Azure services such as Databricks and ADF with strong Python coding. You will collaborate closely with Data & Analytics, IT, and Engineering teams to develop robust data solutions as they migrate from on-premisses to Cloud Data Platform
This is an Outside IR35 contract with day rate from £500 - £550 per day, with 2 days per week in London office.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement data solutions using Azure Data Services, including Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines, that align with business goals and technology strategies.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive data architecture blueprints and roadmaps to guide the evolution of the data landscape.
- Build strong relationships with Data & Analytics, IT, Security, and Engineering teams.
- Ensure data governance standards are adhered to when developing data frameworks.
- Optimize data pipelines and workflows for performance and scalability, utilizing Python/PySpark for coding.
Requirements:
- Experience in the Insurance industry is required.
- Proven experience in designing and developing data solutions using Azure Data Services, including Azure Databricks and ADF.
- Strong Python and SQL knowledge
- Ability to work in sprints and adopt an agile approach to data engineering.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to drive change and promote data solutions across the business.
