SR2 are recruiting for a Backend Software Developer to enhance our client's data processing pipelines and distributed systems. This is a great opportunity to work on a long term government contract via a specialised public sector consultancy.
What We’re Looking For

\n
• Strong C++ skills with experience in distributed systems (Kafka preferred, but other similar frameworks would be useful).
\n
• Database expertise, including Postgres optimisation and data pipelines.
\n
• \nCI/CD proficiency, including Git, automated testing, and deployment pipelines.
\n
• \nContainerisation deployment experience (Docker or Kubernetes)
\n
• Shell scripting knowledge (beneficial)
\n
• A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn beyond your expertise.
\n

Your Responsibilities

\n
• Enhance data processing pipelines for "what-if" experiments.
\n
• Optimise Kafka processes for simulation outputs.
\n
• Improve database performance, resilience, and reliability.
\n

• Hybrid (1-2 days a week onsite in London)

• Government client via a consultancy

• £450 - £600 a day

• 6 month rolling contracts
